It is my generation. I reserve the right to speak to this — I harbored the same sentiments when I was 12: "Conservatives" living like it's 1976, and unions are to blame for inflation and every other stress. Unions, the hippies, and politicians (not businessmen) running the government are to blame for all that ails — feeling like people should make less money because that would curb inflation, and government needs to cut spending because taxes are killing the economy.
Lo and behold, they are all wrong, 180 degrees out from reality, as we find:
- Inflation is caused by money supply, not high wages, union wages too — and it was Republican spending on Vietnam that was to blame for the inflation.
- It is the wealth of the middle class that establishes and drives a strong economy, not the businessmen or capital — the wages of the middle class and the wealth created by them that creates the economic utopia "conservatives" claim to envision as they implement policies that only defeat that cause.
- Government spending on education, transportation, the poor, sick, and elderly provides a foundation for the economy.

Nothing they "know" to be the truth is anything but wrong. It is completely wacked-out psychotic shit.
